Lisa Craig Fenwick: harp, flute

Lisa Craig Fenwick has played her harp for numerous wedding and other public and private events throughout the Finger Lakes area of New York and the Southern Tier, and especially enjoys performing classical music and Celtic music. When not playing harp, Lisa teaches flute, piano and harp and runs a music school for young children called Kindermusik of Ithaca. She was also formerly the music teacher at the Ithaca Montessori School. Lisa is finishing up program requirements to become a Certified Music Practitioner (CMP) though the national Music, Healing and Transition Program (MHTP) where she is learning to play music to help ease those in pain and continues to study classical harp with several teachers.

Over the years, Lisa has performed on flute with a number of local chamber groups and with the Elmira Symphony as well as the Auburn Symphony and the Longey Orchestra in Cambridge, MA . Lisa has played the flute on a number of recordings and has performed at numerous weddings and private functions. She was formerly a member of Fingerlakes Flute Ensemble and often plays chamber music on the flute.

Lisa holds a degree in music performance from Boston University ’s School for the Arts. Originally trained as a flutist, Lisa has served as an adjunct professor of music at SUNY Cortland and has been on the faculty of the Community School of Music and Arts in Ithaca for the past 19 years.

Lisa was originally drawn to the harp when playing in a flute and harp duo. She plays both pedal and lever harp. Lisa currently plays with the harp ensemble Harps on the Susquehanna in the Binghamton area, and with harpist Melissa Collins under the name of Enchantment. Lisa performs with hammered dulcimer Marcy Prochaska under the name of Pas de Deux where she plays both flute and harp.
